1st Ride as owner :)
I’ve been thinking about this for months, ever since I test drove that F800GS I was so impressed from the smoothness of that engine. I continued loving my G650, but I knew I was ready for more. Of course being me I reseached the hell out of it. I decided the F700 was a great fit for me right now…..
Read Moresteelyelk: Glad to see you are moving up…I’m a little envious. Looking forward to seeing the new bike.motech: thanks bud! Me too!

Well… The time has come. Thumper is sold. A little less then a year and I loved every day of it. I couldn’t have asked for a better *first year riding. The little asterisk is because I actually rode for 6 months when I was 17 but we won’t count that.
This bike has been perfect in NYC. Perfectly light weight to learn how to properly maneuver Manhattans craziness. Perfect suspension for it. Great for Sunday rides. Loved every minute.
Thanks so much for being so reliable and fun. So happy we documented so much of this together. Hope you enjoy your new owner. He seems like a cool dude. Tune in next week for some potentially exciting news on the city gs front.

Went to test a Harley yesterday with my brother in law. What a different world.
They laughed at my schuberth :o
Nice ride. I can imagine it being a lot better on the highway. Local roads,1st and 2nd gear were rough. 3rd gear was nice and smooth. I’m guessing after break in it would be smoother in the lower gears.
Not a precision beast. All comfort and power. It was a great experience overall. They were really nice and had a great selection.

Fun @ Brooklyn bowl classic moto show today.
take a look at these. I’m thrilled. and not for the reasons you think.
yah. not for my feet. that would be too obvious.
i love my new uglybros kevlar jeans. they are soft, easy to get on and off, and the knee pads being removable make my day so much easier when going in and out of clients homes.
the one downside is that on rides longer then 30 minutes, the knee pads start hurting my knees to the point of tingling. i think maybe hitting a nerve? i guess its because there isn’t much in-between the pad and my knee. I’ve been thinking that maybe i could get some foam pads and glue them in to relieve the pain. but .. no.. a moment of genius™ with my wife at wall greens tonight. lets hope this does the trick.
one size fits all.. indeed.
